How AQPS Works: The Gas “Heart” of the City and Industry

Have you ever wondered what those areas filled with colorful pipes and complex equipment are that you see on the outskirts of our cities or in large industrial zones? It is not just a pile of pipes; it is an Automatic Gas Distribution Station (AGDS) that ensures the safe distribution of energy.

What is AGDS?

Many people think that gas comes directly to our homes through pipelines. However, in main pipelines gas is under very high pressure. AGDS is a kind of “regulator” that tames the enormous pressure of gas coming from the main pipelines and reduces it to a level suitable for residential buildings and factories. Without these stations, it would be impossible to safely transmit gas to the city network.

How does it work?

The operation of AGDS can be imagined as a multi-stage “filtering and control” system:

Cleaning: First of all, the gas coming from the main pipeline is cleaned from sand, rust, and moisture through special gas filters.

Pressure reduction: Special regulators reduce the gas pressure from a high level to a medium or low level.

Measurement: With the help of gas meters, the amount of energy passing through the system is calculated precisely.

Odorization: Did you know that natural gas actually has no smell? At AGDS a special odor (odorant) is added to the gas so that people can detect it if any leakage occurs.

Safety guarantee: valves

One of the most important parts of AGDS is the safety valves. Imagine this: if the pressure suddenly rises above the norm, these valves shut off the gas within seconds. This is an automatic chain that protects the system and an entire neighborhood from potential danger.

The role of ENERMUS: from design to installation

AGDS is also an art of engineering. As "ENERMUS", we develop projects for high, medium, and low pressure stations and also carry out their supply. By participating in international Oil and Gas exhibitions (UAE, Europe, Turkey, Russia), we apply the latest innovations to these systems.

Conclusion

Therefore, the next time you see these stations on the streets or at the entrance of enterprises, remember — they are silent guardians working 24/7 so that the flame burns in your home, industry continues to operate, and above all, your safety is ensured.

In your opinion, what is the most important factor in a gas system: speed or safety? As the "ENERMUS" engineering team, we combine both.
